Emergency Department and seeing the lasting effects of grief, rape, abuse, trauma, and suicide in patients and their families, I felt the proactive need to get out in front of these issues and try to change the outcomes. I grew up a preacher’s daughter. Raised in the church, I was taught to bear one another’s burdens and love thy neighbor as thyself. Having gone through grief, crisis, and trauma of my own, I know how challenging it can be to have Hope. Sometimes in the trials of this life, even the smallest amount of faith can seem too difficult. Hope can be lost. Although Hope can have different meanings for people, it was a reminder of the faith of a mustard seed. See, it only takes a Seed of Hope to make a difference. That is why Hope Seed was founded, and that is our mission! We are here to combine our education, years of experience, expertise, and faith to help others through the most challenging times of their lives. As Hope Seed grows, we want to be a leader in mental health and wellness with innovative approaches, integrative healthcare, public health collaborations, community resources, and a state-of-the-art facility. Our organization addresses many community issues. We seek to bring awareness to mental health, provide resources to the community through homelessness support, disaster relief, initiatives for schools, fundraising, and collaborations with other organizations. One of our central purposes is to provide support to the community through Christian based counseling for depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, crisis, trauma, and suicide. Hope Seed specializes in behavioral therapy, family support, ministry trainings, and foster care assistance through our partnership with Fostering Family in Houston. Hope Seed Support Center genuinely believes in the importance of education. Our focus is to use education through our Nutritional Therapy Center, which optimizes nutrition through a bio-individual approach. We are dedicated to working with individuals and alongside health-care practitioners to reverse the effects of the modern diet and achieve whole health and wellness. We also believe in preventative health and physical wellness and will offer services to support these through an on-site clinic at a future date. Hope Seed also works with schools and districts to promote safety, mental wellness, and support solutions. We seek to bring awareness to mental health issues facing adolescents and to decrease the stigma associated with it. Our goal is to help prevent suicide and to decrease the existence of depression, anxiety, and bullying that is facing the generations of today. We also have a leadership and crisis training program for churches, organizations, and businesses.
